Info About Cruises
A lot of people think that on board at night you have to dress extremely formally with tuxes for men and cock tail dresses for the ladies, and where sometimes this is true on whole it isn't. many cruise liners will have their special dress up' nights where men will come down in tux's or suites and ladies dress in cocktail dress or silk suites but it doesn't have to be like this every night.
Most ships will allow you to wear fairly causal clothes to dine in, from shorts to jeans and dresses to skirts; you'll find the dress code on board will range from head to toe sequins to denim shorts. It's always nice to make an effort on holiday though so if you do like to dress casually why not get in with the more lavishness of the cruise ship by adding a few accessories to jazz up your outfit and join in with the on board glamour.
In the day you can get that cruise ship glamour by putting a caftan over your bikini, you can get them in a number of styles and patterns, but sometimes it's just as stylish to wear a plain colour caftan with a big belt round your waist. You can then accessorise your look with a pair of big sunglasses, and if your daring enough why not go all out and get your very own Joan Collins wide brimmed hat to really top off a fabulous daytime look. Another day time look to go for is a halter dress, these can look lovely in bright colours to go with the glorious sun you will be soaking up, and not only that but they are perfect to just throw on if you are heading on any on shore trips. Loose fitting cotton dresses are also a must, they look great without creasing and because they are loose fitting they don't make you hotter than you already are. They are also a god send for on the beach as if you participate in any water sports and have to head back to boat now having dried off, you are still able to throw them on and them wont stick to you just perfect!
Now I know that when it comes to finding the right evening dress for those formal evening it can seem like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, but it really doesn't need to be that bad, you'll find on board that it ranges ball gowns to cocktail dresses so don't panic. If your like me and would prefer not to look like a big pink margarine in a ball gown you can opt for a simple cock tail dress that you could accessorise up to be just as fabulous as the long flowing gowns! You can do this by adding detail, maybe sewing on a few sequins for that extra sparkle, or adding a corsage or even just by wear a great pair of statement shoes and some fabulous jewellery. Getting your dress ready can be your chance to really show off and it can be great fun to do whilst you're waiting for your cruise to come around.
One last thing that is a most for holiday clothes packing is jewellery, a girl can never have too many bangles, ear rings and necklaces! From studs to hoops, jewels to beads you name it, if you've got them pack them! If you're going to be wearing simple outfits then you may as well add that extra excitement by adding your own touch to them and putting on some chunky bangles and a breaded necklace.
